Guidelines for Paper Submission

  • Workshop and Special Session proposals: 1 April 2020
  • Paper Submission (one off extension*): 22 August 2020
  • Notification to Authors: 18 September 2020
  • Camera Ready Manuscript: 2nd of October 2020

Camera-Ready Submission Instructions:

Please read the following paper submission guidelines before submitting your papers:

  • All papers must be submitted through the IEEE SSCI 2020 online submission system, using the link sent in the acceptance email.
  • In order for your papers to be included in the congress program and in the proceedings, final accepted papers must be submitted, and the corresponding registration fees must be paid by the end of October 02, 2020 (anywhere globally).
  • It is the policy of SSCI 2020 that new authors cannot be added at the time of submitting final camera-ready papers. Please ensure that you are following this guideline to avoid any issues with publication.

Paper Formating:

To help ensure correct formatting, please use the IEEE style files for conference proceedings as a template for your submission. These include LaTeX and Word style files.

The MS Word and LaTeX instructions and templates can be found on: Link

  • Only papers in PDF format will be accepted.
  • Paper Size: US letter.
  • The papers are limited to maximum of 8 pages, including figures, tables, and references. A maximum of two extra pages per paper is allowed (i.e., up to 10 pages), at an additional charge of $140 AUD (Australian Dollars) per extra page.
  • No page numbers please. We will insert the page numbers for you.

Please Note: Violations of any of the above specifications may result in rejection of your paper.

Final PDF generation in compliance with PDF eXpress :

For compatibility with IEEE Xplore, the final PDF file needs to be generated through PDF eXpress tool for consistency. Please follow these steps to do so:

Before Creating a PDF

  • Please add the copyright notice to the bottom of the first page of your source document (Choose the relevant option from the instructions given below). An example of copyright placement can be found here: Example image. If necessary, contact Hemant Singh (h.singh@adfa.edu.au) for the appropriate copyright notice.
  • The appropriate copyright clearance code notice is to appear on the bottom left of the first page of each paper according to the guidelines set forth in the Cataloging/Copyright Instructions for an IEEE Conference Proceeding. Detailed instructions can be found at: Link.
  • Please use the option applicable to you from the following:
    • For papers in which all authors are employed by the US government, the copyright notice is: U.S. Government work not protected by U.S. copyright.
    • For papers in which all authors are employed by a Crown government (UK, Canada, and Australia), the copyright notice is: 978-1-7281-2547-3/20/$31.00 ©2020 Crown
    • For papers in which all authors are employed by the European Union, the copyright notice is: 978-1-7281-2547-3/20/$31.00©2020 European Union
    • For all other papers the copyright notice is: 978-1-7281-2547-3/20/$31.00 ©2020 IEEE
  • For authors using LaTeX, the copyright can be inserted the following way:

  • Proofread your source document thoroughly to confirm that it will require no revision.

Creating and using your PDF eXpress Account

Log in to the IEEE PDF eXpress website: Link

First-time users should do the following:

  • Select the New Users - Click Here link.
  • Enter the following:
    • 47803XP for the Conference ID
    • your email address and
    • a password
  • Continue to enter information as prompted

An Online confirmation will be displayed, and an email confirmation will be sent verifying your account setup.

Previous users of PDF eXpress or IEEE PDF eXpress Plus need to follow the above steps, but should enter the same password that was used for previous conferences. Verify that your contact information is valid.

Once you are able to log in, you can upload the source files to create the PDF. Once generated, the PDF will be emailed to you. Use this version in the final upload.
